Welcome to the first post on my travel blog. My inspiration for this sharing of travel related information stems back to my career in this industry. Being a native resident of Liverpool, UK (aka “The World in One City”), this inspired me to change my career from Dispensing Optician to Travel Agent. From working in the retail section, I diversified by offering “Day Trips” by air from Liverpool to many european destinations utilizing aircraft such as Boeing 757’s and Airbus 320’s on a whole plane charter basis.
Since I moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada back in the Summer of 98. I continued my travel career into other facets of the industry. I have supervised the ground operations for passenger arrivals and departures for a couple of the world’s largest cruise lines cruising the Alaska Inside Passage, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. This culminated in being offered the position as Port Manager for NCL in Vancouver during the summer 2006 season which I accepted.
My ultimate goal has always been to follow a career that would allow me to be a flight attendant and fortunately I have been chosen by 2 airlines. This allows me to fly throughout the year. In the winter, I fly to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Costa Rica and during the summer, I fly domestically within Canada. This has given me first hand knowledge of many destinations which I am excited to share with my travel agency clients to help make their planned vacation or business trip go smoothly.
With all this travel related experience gained over the past 25 years is no many different and varied aspects of the industry, I am excited to share it with you. I dare you to read my travel blog, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
