What to do with your loved one this Valentines Day?
TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
Las Vegas is the ideal destination for a perfect romantic valentines getaway.
There are several recommendations for this upcoming Valentine’s Day that we are pleased to share with you.
Caesars Palace, Paris Las Vegas, Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino and Flamingo Las Vegas each offer something for those looking to escape this Valentine’s Day.
Qua Baths & Spas at Caesars Palace offers a couples treatment called Twin Souls designed to harmonize a couple’s energy while Payard Patisserie will have a wide variety of chocolates to purchase for loved ones.
Guests to The Village at Lake Las Vegas can look forward to festive menus at select Village restaurants as well as singles and couples cruises along Lake Las Vegas.
Couples are encouraged to board the LaContessa for the annual Valentine’s Day Cruise at 6 p.m. The one hour cruise will feature a complimentary glass of champagne and a cash bar for additional beverages.
Did you know there is a cruise called The Non-Valentine’s Day Cruise for singles which departs at 7:30 p.m. and will also include a complimentary glass of champagne and a cash bar for additional beverages. So even if you don’t have a valentine when you arrive in Las Vegas you could easily end up with one!
Love and marriage
For those looking to propose, The Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas offers proposal packages with chilled champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. If the proposal has already taken place, or the engagement period is going to be very short, then plan a wedding at the Flamingo Garden Wedding Chapel, or choose from Las Vegas’ many chapels.
Vegas Valentine’s Day visitors can now attend X Burlesque University (XBU) taught by the performers featured in the “X” Burlesque show at Flamingo Las Vegas. For a limited time classes will be offered at 3:00 p.m. inside Bugsy’s Cabaret at Flamingo Las Vegas. Upon completion of the 75-minute class in the art of burlesque, XBU students will receive a complimentary make-up kit, professional souvenir photo and official XBU diploma. The cost per class is $34.95.
The Anti-Valentine’s Day
There are also options for people who are looking to escape to Las Vegas for “Anti-Valentine’s Day.” Simon at Palms Place is throwing an unconventional Valentine’s Day party, its Singles Soiree on February 14. The party is for the unattached to defy the holiday’s typical traditions by being social with food, drinks, and friendly activities such as combating a heart-shaped piñata. Prizes will be given away throughout the event including gift cards to Sunset Tan, Drift Spa & Hammam and Palms Casino Resort.
Vancouverites are already experiening the huge inconvenience that such a global event brings to the city.
Endless road closures, restricted movements and Canada Line have advised that during the event there will often be a 3 or 4 Skytrain wait, therefore needing to allow at least an extra 30 minutes for your journey.
Lots of Vancouver Schools are closing for the event SO NOW IS THE TIME TO ESCAPE the hustle and bustle of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
You can do so for less with United Airline’s Vancouver Escape Sale. If you’d rather be sipping cocktails on a beach in Hawaii or trying your luck at the slot machines in Vegas than fighting traffic restrictions and painting a giant maple leaf on your face, this sale is for you!
Here are some examples of the fares being offered. These prices are for return flights, in Canadian dollars, with all taxes included:
Vancouver to Maui – February 14-25: $465.11*

YVR 2010 Olympic Preparations
Well, how much better can it be living accross the road from the YVR 2010 Olympic Village with The British Columbia Mountains in the background and Vancouver’s version of Disney’s Golf Ball at Epcot-Florida. I took this picture this morning on the way to my travel agency office.
Who says the sun never shines in British Columbia.
It’s not too late to come to our wonderful city of Vancouver and experience the Olympic fever that is all over the city.
Preparations are nearly complete and there is still accommodation to be had, from hotel rooms on a cruise ship in port, to the traditional land based hotel.
Treat yourself to the experience of a lifetime, TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO THE OLYMPIC OPENING CEREMONY FROM ONLY $1545.00 CAD each, but hurry they won’t be around forever!
WALT DISNEY TO LAND IN SHANGHAI.
The Chinese government approved the Walt Disney Co.’s deal to open a theme park in Shanghai. The new park is planned for the Pudong new district of China’s financial capital. Disney will be hoping the Shanghai park, with an estimated price tag of US$3.6-billion, will fare better than its Hong Kong property, which has struggled with lower-than-expected attendance and financial losses since it opened in 2005.
